Scott-Long Construction will begin work on another renovation project for a church at the end of 2023. NewCity Church is in need of a larger worship space for its congregation. The project will involve removing part of the second floor in a three story office building.

“NewCity is not only a vibrant and exciting congregation, but they have developed ministries and partnerships within our community including Mercy Ministry, Family Advocacy Ministry, and Project Belong,” said John of Scott-Long Construction. “It is so rewarding being a partner with clients who are having a positive impact in our community.”

The renovation for more worship space will involve some challenges. The Reformed Theological Seminary will still be holding classes on the third floor of the building while the renovations are taking place on the second floor. This will require the construction team to take safety precautions when it comes to dust, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.

This project with NewCity Church highlights Scott-Long Construction’s commitment to the faith community. CEO John Scott will also be taking part in the “Building on Purpose” church building seminar in November which discusses church construction and financing options.

Church leadership is invited to attend this half day event. Recently the team at Scott-Long Construction won an Excellence in Construction Award for their work at Fourth Presbyterian Church.
