Trinity Christian School Phase II
Since Trinity Christian School's founding in 1987, it has served as an intentionally distinctive school for families in Northern Virginia who seek a Christian education for their children. Faith and learning are integrated throughout all aspects of the academic and co-curricular program in order to facilitate the development of knowledge character, and service in the lives of their students.
After completing Phase I in 2004, Scott-Long broke ground for Phase II on May 18, 2008 with a scheduled completion of the Summer of 2009. This Phase will provide the students with a full size gymnasium, fine arts facilities for choral and instrumental rehearsals and performances and additional classrooms to provide enhanced curriculum. The total project is approximately 47,000SF.
Elizabeth Seton High School Elizabeth Seton High School provides a challenging college preparatory program for all young women who seek a community that celebrates diversity and creativity, fosters moral, spiritual, academic and physical growth, and promotes the Gospel values through services to others. The School was founded 1959 by the Daughters of Charity.
Scott-Long completed the Center for Sports and Fine Arts in the fall of 2007, ahead of schedule. The project consisted of a one-story 27,000SF stand-alone building which featured a new gymnasium. The building also included locker rooms, training rooms, classrooms, band and music rehearsal rooms.
Gesher Jewish Day School Construction of a new campus for K-8 school. The new building on a 20+ acre site consists of a gymnasium, two classroom wings, library, Beit Midrash and cafeteria. Construction on this wooded site included a new VDOT road, septic field, wetland protection, new playing fields and a learning garden. Scott-Long installed the first privately maintained on site sewage treatment facility with sequential batch reactor technology in Fairfax County. The project’s architecture features a large curved masonry wall similar to Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall.
Montessori Academy at Belmont Greene School officials were so pleased with Scott-Long's work on the original 10,000SF building that they called on us three years later to handle construction of their Phase 2 addition.
The 4,262SF project involves vaulted ceilings, millwork, and an exterior skin that had to exactly match the existing structure. Scott-Long completed everything in just five months, carefully scheduling work to avoid disrupting classes taking place nearby and accommodate the fact that no deliveries were permitted prior to 7:30 am.
Episcopal High School Ainslie Arts Center When this prestigious private school needed to expand and modernize, they called on Scott-Long. The existing 18,000SF auditorium building was re-worked structurally to accommodate an enlarged stage and new balcony seating. Also included was a 20,000SF addition, practice rooms, black box, lighting and sound equipment, photography and ceramics facilities, and dance studio.
Dalrymple Dormitory In addition, Scott-Long completely renovated the interior and exterior of this 13,000SF dormitory, careful to preserve the character of the 1913 structure. A 2,000sf addition was also constructed to blend seamlessly with the original.
Trinity Christian School Phase I Phase 1 of this $10 million, 25-acre project was completed in just eight months—five months ahead of schedule. Scott-Long served as construction manager/builder responsible for permitting and neighbor relations, as well construction. We also helped secure just-in-time funding, which allowed work on the project to continue uninterrupted. Site work included demolition of existing structures; mass excavation and grading; road work; storm and sanitary sewers; water line extension; septic system; electric, gas, and phone service; parking lot, sidewalks, retaining walls, and landscaping. The school building is a combination of structural steel and concrete bearing walls with a brick veneer, totaling approximately 45,000SF.
